Zedan Racing’s top 3-year-old ARABIAN KNIGHT continued to show that he’s a leader in the division with a win in the Pacific Classic (G1) against his elders.
First out of the gate, the colt showed his customary speed to go to the front ion the 1 ¼ mile race and never looked back. He kept a length on the field for much of the race as he coasted under Flavien Prat. Geaux Rocket Ride challenged the Zedan color bearer in the stretch but ARABIAN KNIGHT was ready to set down for a duel.
ARABIAN KNIGHT kept that rival at least a neck behind him throughout and crossed the length a neck ahead in a time of 2:03.19 for his third win in four career starts. The $1,244,275 earner also won the Southwest Stakes (G3) in January and finished third in the Haskell Stakes (G1) on his return after a break.
ARABIAN KNIGHT has been a superstar since Zedan purchased him for $2.3 million at last year’s OBS Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds In Training and sent him to trainer Bob Baffert. The Pacific Classic earned him an automatic sport in this year’s Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) at Santa Anita.
