Zedan Racing Stables Inc.’s Nooni posted a sharp-looking score in an Aug. 2nd money allowance race at Ellis Park, the second start for the 4-year-old filly following a 19-month layoff.
The daughter of Win Win Win put in a gallant effort while third in last month’s Great Lady M S. (G2) at Los Alamitos and parlayed that race into a winning effort on Sunday.
Quickest out of the gate, Nooni settled into third as Cut to the Chase and Me and Molly McGee battled through an opening quarter-mile of :22.99. Nooni cruised up to the leaders while three-wide on the turn, taking over the top spot at the top of the stretch. She was in command down the lane, winning by nearly two lengths over Flat Out Time.
Nooni has now has three wins, with a second and a third in eight starts for earnings of $269,260. As a 2-year-old, Nooni won her debut by nearly 10 lengths, then took the Sorrento S. (G3).
