Zedan Racing purchased just two horses at the OBS March 2-Year-Old In Training Sale this week but they were exciting additions to our stable.

A Florida-bred filly by Win Win Win set a quarter-mile breezing record when stopping the clock in :20.1 during the Under Tack show and less than a week later sold to Donato Lanni for $1.8 million on Zedan’s behalf. That price was $300,000 more than the next highest priced horse of the sale when selling late in the final session.

From the first crop of Grade 1 winner Win Win Win, the Ocala Stud offering is a half-sister to one winner from one to race out of the Union Rags mare Unanimity.

That mare is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Courtesan and stakes winner Chary. Chary produced a stakes winner and a stakes placer from her four winners while two other daughters out of Lady Discreet have also produced stakes winners.

Lady Discreet is a half-sister to Grade 1 winners Discreet Cat and Discreetly Mine.

“She is a cool filly,” Donato said. “Every time I saw her, she was out of her stall. She just took it all in stride. She was easy to like. We always come to the sales and look at horses by sires that are a bit obscure or haven’t had a runner yet. What’s great is that you never know where the good ones will come from.”

A $700,000 Justify colt was purchased by Donato on behalf of Zedan during the second day of the sale as well.

Pick View offered the New York-bred, who had breezed in :20.2 during the Under Tack show. The colt is the first foal out of the multiple stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Pauseforthecause, who is also a half-sister to the stakes placed duo of Aggelos the Great and Tossup.

Each of the colt’s first three dams have won at least one stakes with each of the three dams on the page with racing age foals producing more than one stakes performer. In all, there are eight stakes performers on the page with five winning stakes races.
