A rare offering at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale was snapped up by Zedan Racing when our team went to $4 million for a Curlin colt out of Beholder.
We are beyond excited to add this incredible colt to @ZedanRacing. He has the looks and the pedigree to be a superstar! ⭐ #Saratoga @FasigTiptonCo https://t.co/4Clplqoshp

“Like the boss [Bob Baffert] said, it’s very difficult to find this kind of bloodline,” said Zedan. “We’ve done quite well with the 2-year-olds, and coming in here and seeing that quality, I took some time to actually look at him and really appreciate who he is as an individual. But when you have Mr. Baffert in your corner, I just follow him blindly. He’s the best in history, and he doesn’t need my testimony to that.”
Offered by Taylor Sale for Spendthrift Farm, the colt is the fifth foal out of four-time champion Beholder. That mare is also the dam of Grade 3 winner Teena Ella and out of Broodmare of the Year Leslie’s Lady.
Leslie’s Lady has also proven to be the dam of successful sires with Grade 1 winning son Into Mischief becoming a record-breaking four-time champion sire and Grade 1 winner Mendelssohn a successful young sire. Beholder is one of five stakes producers out of her dam.
Donato Lanni also won the bidding war on a $3.2 million Into Mischief colt on behalf of Zedan Racing as the second highest priced offering.

Offered by Indian Creek, he is the first foal out of American Pharoah mare All American Dream. She is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Wind Fire and stakes placed Bloodline and to the dam of stakes winner Shidabhuti. The colt’s third dam is dual Grade 1 winner Dream Supreme – a daughter of Grade 1 winner Spinning Round – who produced Grade 1 winner Majestic Warrior.
“This was a pretty exceptional horse,” said Lanni. “He had the Into Mischief and American Pharoah look. Every time I walked by that barn, he was out for somebody. But he did everything right every time. He just never seemed to have a bad moment. It is really rare to find a horse that is that cool. We couldn’t go home without him.”
