This son of Uncle Mo was triumphant on debut going 6 1/2 furlongs on July 17 at Ellis Park. Salahudin was purchased by bloodstock agent Donato Lanni for Zedan at last year’s Fasig-Tipton October Sale for $325,000, and is out of the Smart Strike mare Weekend Strike, making him a half-brother to Group 3-winner Sizzling. His third dam is the influential broodmare Weekend Surprise, who was the dam of breed-shaping sire A.P. Indy and prominent sire Summer Squall.
