Founded in 2016, Amr’s first entry into Thoroughbred racing was as a partner in the international superstar California Chrome, having won the Dubai World Cup and multiple Grade 1’s in the United States.
A two-time Horse of the Year, dual classic winner California Chrome made his debut in the final year of racing at Hollywood Park and broke his maiden there one start later. A stakes winner at two, California Chrome came out running the following year with his early season seeing him win five consecutive starts led by the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Preakness Stakes (G1). Finishing his year with a win in the Hollywood Derby (G1) on turf, California Chrome was named that year’s Horse of the Year.
As a 5-year-old, California Chrome put together another Horse of the Year campaign with his eight starts including seven victories with victories in the Dubai World Cup (G1), Pacific Classic (G1), and Awesome Again Stakes (G1) leading the charge. California Chrome retired in 2017 after a run in the Pegasus World Cup (G1) with four Eclipse Awards to his name and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023.
By Lucky Pulpit, California Chrome is out of the winning Not For Love mare Love The Chase with three of his first four dams producing stakes winners.
