PRINCESS NOOR was offered in foal to champion sire Into Mischief at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale, consigned by Taylor Made Sales as hip 222.
With precocious speed, Princess Noor was built for early success. She was purchased for $1.35 million as a juvenile at OBS Sales from Pick View Sales, and two months later she won her debut at Del Mar in flashy fashion. From there she notched Grade 2 and Grade 1 victories as a 2-year-old before her career was cut short.
The notorious “Night of the Stars” saw the bidding on the Grade 1 winner climb to nearly $3 million, with the final bidder, Katsumi Yoshida, securing the gorgeous dark bay for $2.9 million.
“The whole thing came full circle because we sold her as a yearling for Oussama Aboughazale for $135,000, and then she comes back, she wins a grade 1, and we get to sell her tonight,” said Mark Taylor, vice president of sales and marketing at Taylor Made. “It’s a great result for Mr. Zedan. Northern Farm got a great mare. There’s really no mare in the last couple years that I have more respect for with her sheer brilliance on the track. It’s a win-win for everybody.”
